Island Hopping in Cebu: Best Routes and Real Costs

Cebu works as a hub: within a few hours of the city you can be snorkeling a reef, standing on a sandbar or diving with threshers. The catch is that "island hopping in Cebu" means very different trips depending on budget and time. Here are the five routes that matter, with realistic 2026 costs in Philippine pesos.

Route 1: Mactan day trip (half-day, easiest)

The classic hop from the city. Outrigger boats from Maribago or Cordova visit Hilutungan, Nalusuan and Caohagan — marine sanctuaries with good snorkeling, plus the pandasik sandbar off Cordova depending on tide.
