Culture shock: the good kind

My Tokyo rent of ¥180,000/month became ₱18,000/month for a similar-sized condo in IT Park. Groceries cost about 40% less. The biggest saving is healthcare — a hospital visit that would cost ¥30,000 in Tokyo costs ₱500 here.
Language
Filipino is surprisingly close to Japanese in sentence structure (SOV). Many Japanese loanwords exist in Filipino (pan = bread from pan, kutsara = spoon from cuchara via Spanish). Basic Filipino comes fast for Japanese speakers.
